Born in Guildford, Surrey, Lesley spent her early
life in South London, before marrying and moving all over the South East of
England. The family finally settled on
the Kent coast where they still live. Lesley fell into feature
writing by accident, then on to reviewing for both magazines and radio. She
writes for the stage, she has written short fiction for
women’s weekly magazines and is a former editor of The Call Boy, the British Music Hall Society
journal. As a mature student, she attained a gold medal for drama from her
drama school in Guildford and a Master’s Degree from the University of
Wales. She still occasionally acts and directs for
her local theatre company and is permanently working on her next Libby Sarjeant novel. She also now writes The Alexandrians Edwardian mystery series. For more information go to her website, www.lesleycookman.co.uk
